On-Point Grid
Attach the walking foot to your machine. Decide how far apart you want to quilt your lines.
1. Mark vertical and horizontal centerlines on your piece. Do not quilt the lines. Use the 45° angle on your quilting ruler to mark a line that crosses the point where the horizontal and vertical centerlines intersect.
2. Quilt the marked angled line. Set your walking-foot quilting guide to the length you chose or calculated. If you don’t have a walking-foot guide, you can mark each line you want to quilt.
3. Quilt evenly spaced lines outward from one of the angled lines to the edge.
4. Turn the quilt 180° to complete the lines on the other side of the angled line.
5. At the midpoint, mark another 45° line in the other direction. Quilt this line and evenly spaced lines outward as above.
